First Reading – Jeremiah 23:1-6: God warns against those who lead his people astray and scatter his flock

Responsorial Psalm – Psalm 23:1-3, 3-4, 5, 6: sings “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want”.

Second reading – Ephesians 2:13-18: Paul tells us that Jesus Christ is our peace.

Gospel – Mark 6:30-34: Jesus and his disciples leave to get some rest, but when followed by the crowd, ” his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd.”
